Awareness | Prevention

We believe raising awareness is one of the best ways to love those who are being exploited sexually in our city and elsewhere. Why? Our relationship network can only go so far. We need a community of people, a tribe, to provide wrap around support, to be eyes and ears, hearts and hands. We need more people to be advocates for those who feel they don’t have a voice. We need more people who can prayerfully intervene, who can listen, who can provide needed resources, and who can be a friend.

We seek to address many different forms of sexual exploitation and the objectification of women as part of our awareness outreach including the effects of pornography, sexual assault, sex industry work, internet safety, and sex trafficking. We want to provide people with information that moves them to action. When it is everyone’s responsibility to notice those in need, those who are hurting, those are being exploited, or even notice our own contribution to the problem, then we are quick to ignore warning signs or have potentially difficult conversations.

Hope 918 believes when we join voices in raising awareness we can make a difference in our community in the attempt to break every chain of human trafficking.

If you are interested in coordinating an awareness event with your church, school, work group, or friends we would love to assist you in any way we can. You can reach us at carrietabor@hope918.com.
